Shackleton: The Boss (English Edition) eBook : Smith, Michael By Michael Smith

A well written book which describes the epic journey of Shackleton and his crew to Antarctica. Leaves in some of the brutal details, so is not too sanitised (animals dying, being lost in the ice and being put down), but this might upset a younger child. Hard to get boys to read, but this book really helped. Some great imagery and you really got a sense of the isolation and danger the men faced. Has resulted in some good discussions about the sea, climate, exploration and progress. Can't ask for , really.
