It was interesting or rather, enlightening to read about his voyage to attain the truth of life. His principles mostly conveys about righteous actions. I'm moved by his theories on birth and death. He says birth is after all an accident. The caste, creed or religion in which we are born is out of our hands. Therefore, we should treat our fellow human beings equally. What he professes about death is that anything that has a beginning must have an end and that on one's karma, depends the nature of re-birth. The man who has just died is also the man who is born elsewhere. One who attains Nirvana has no re-birth and the soul goes to Swarga. The impact of Lord Buddha is so magnanimous that even after two and a half thousand years after his death, his message still lives on. The once 'brooding dove' and later 'the enlightened' instigates me to wish the world peace and the people to be compassionate to others. English Such an inspiring story. I love reading spiritual books. English I was looking for a deep dive in to Buddhist philosophy and religion . I thought the best way to know about the Buddha ‘s teaching was first to get a fair idea about his life before referring to deeper materials that include the core of Buddhist philosophy. It is then that I picked up this book.
