My husband enjoyed the study until the bible study was disbanded. Then it was a little hard for him to work through it 240 pages I bought the book and read about half of it before I decided I wanted to review the small group material. The book itself spends considerable time on the intro, foundation, before it goes into the actual list of respectable sins. Excellent Book 240 pages This is a tremendous resource for every Christian to have as it really gets to the basics of all our sin struggles. Sin is sin, never should be presented as respectable! 240 pages Book and small group study all in one. I like that you don’t have to purchase the book also. 240 pages
What ever happened to sin?
Have we become so preoccupied with the major sins of our society that we have lost sight of our need to deal with our own, subtle sins? Jerry Bridges addresses a dozen clusters of specific “acceptable” sins that we tend to tolerate in ourselves―such as jealousy, anger, judgmentalism, selfishness, and pride.
Jerry writes not from a height of spiritual accomplishment, but from the trenches of his own battles with sin. In his admonitions, Jerry offers a message of hope in the profound mercy of the gospel and the transforming grace of God as the means to overcome our “respectable sins.”
